At MBS, we take satisfaction in the fact that when we help our clients make smart marketing decisions – for example, by eliminating unproductive customer segments from a mailing – the environment benefits as well.

 

We believe that it’s not enough to provide our clients with “green” marketing guidance – we need to act as an example of environmental responsibility in the way we conduct our business on a day-to-day basis. In our efforts to do so, MBS has instituted a variety of programs to improve the quality of life not only on Long Island but worldwide. They include:

 

Membership in the NY State Department of Transportation’s Commuter Choice carpool program since 2000. By supporting our employees’ carpooling decisions and offering them flex time and telecommuting options, MBS is helping to reduce the traffic and air pollution on Long Island.

 

Recycling over 200,000 lbs of paper each year, saving over 1,700 trees! Paper recycling bins are set up throughout the building to make it easy and convenient for employees to participate.

 

Recycling of retired computer equipment, other metal scrap, and printer toner. Our computer equipment and other metal scrap are recycled in an environmentally safe facility, saving landfill space and preventing environmental runoff, while our used toner cartridges are sent back to the manufacturer for reuse.

 

Providing our employees with compact fluorescent light bulbs to encourage conservation of electricity at home. MBS recently gave each of our employees one of these energy saving light bulbs, which uses only about 20% of the electricity used by ordinary light bulbs and lasts 10 times as long.
