Supporting local and national non-profit organizations

Giving Back

For over 40 years, MBS has been committed to making a positive impact on society, and we do so by supporting both local and national non-profit organizations. Some of the programs we participate in are:

American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days

MBS is a proud participant in the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days. Each daffodil purchase contributes to the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer and helps to raise funds for cancer research, community education programs, and other services that assist those suffering from cancer.

Blood Drive

MBS, in conjunction with the Long Island Blood Services, holds a company sponsored blood drive on site every year. In 2007, our employees contributed a total of 42 pints of blood.

Lee National Denim Day

MBS supports the fight against breast cancer by participating in Lee National Denim Day, the world’s largest single-day fundraiser for breast cancer. As part of the fundraiser, employees who donate to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, are allowed to wear blue jeans to work –- on a Thursday! In addition, MBS holds a Chinese Auction and a bake off as part of our fundraising efforts.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

As part of our efforts to improve life on Long Island, MBS participates in Long Island Cares' annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. In 2007, MBS contributed 420 pounds of food and two certificates for turkeys, as well as a cash donation towards the purchase of turkeys.

Toy Drive

MBS gets into the spirit of the holiday season by joining the Marine Corps national Toys for Tots program and collecting new, unwrapped toys. MBS then takes these gifts and delivers them to our local Toys for Tots office so that they can be distributed to needy children in our community.

MBS also supports our clients’ fundraising efforts. In 2007, MBS, in partnership with our client Bloomingdale’s, sponsored the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s “We Will Be Herd” walk. MBS also recently contributed to Gordmans’ silent auction to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
